The Executive Committee of Northumberlanmd County Council agreed the proposal to re-organise from three tier to two tier education for  Roman Catholic schools in Blyth and Bedlington on 30th September 2009. This means that St.Andrew's will become a primary school with year five children remaining on the St. Andrew's site from September 2010. St  Andrew's will relocate to the St Wilfrid's site as soon after September 2011 as possible when the remodelling ofthe St Wilfrid's site is completed.

We are delighted that the proposal has been accepted as this brings us into line with the rest of the U.K. and we woudl like to thank our colleagues at St Wilfrid's for making such a difficult decision for the benefit of Catholic education in Northumberland.
